Oakland County Earth Science Club
Tony and Lynette's Rockhounding Vacation
The Oakland County Earth Science Club is dedicated to the investigation and understanding of the World around us especially in the areas of geology, rocks, minerals, and fossils.
But we go way beyond that.
Many of our members travel to mines, quarries, and sites to practice rockhounding at its best.
Still others do lapidary work on the club's equipment shaping semi-precious gems into cabochons. All members are welcome.
A silversmithing class is offered to members that teaches beginners how to make quality settings for the gems they have shaped.
So if you have ever picked up a stone and said "what a cool rock", and stuck it in your pocket we might be the group for you.
Check out the site, and have fun.
